I work at a dog daycare and with the holidays we've been seeing a lot more pups. With the increase in population, it's gotten significantly louder than it usually is and I've always struggled with getting overwhelmed/overstimulated in areas with loud, chaotic noise. My PCP said it's likely related to anxiety and has prescribed an as-needed medication, but since I use PillPack it won't be delivered for a few weeks. Since I'm the people person up front, ear plugs or similar sound dampening devices aren't an option, so I'm wondering what else I might be able to do to help with the irritability that comes when I'm overstimulated until I get my new med

Can you take breaks in between? Try to remind yourself by setting an alarm once in a while during the day, to ask yourself how are you feeling. Even just when you go the the bathroom or drink something, try to connect to yourself and to your own needs by talking to yourself

I worked retail for a while during the pandemic, when everything was hectic and things were flying off rhe shelves. I found that wearing something really soft, and keeping my hands in my pockets whenever I could helped. Also a warm thermos of tea. (I realize this isn't always a great idea if you live in a warm place but I digress) also looking away from everything when you have a second helps sometimes. I also found progressive muscle relaxation and breathing helped too. Sorry if this is disjointed it's like 4 am here

Hey, you can buy OTC drugs at any pharmacy. You can just ask the pharmacist for a recommendation.
