Anybody else out there with anger issues? I need some ideas on what REALLY works to keep anger from becoming rage.

I have anger issues also, I try to take myself away from everyone and calm myself down by listening to music that is calming or focus on something else.

My CBT therapist recommended filling a sink with cold water and dunking your head in, sometimes with a little scream - it works sometimes, depending on the level of anger, but I personally deal with the super bad fits by leaving whatever situation I'm in a taking a long walk to get rid of the adrenaline

I'm fast to anger when I get triggered, and I'm a horrible person when angry. Outside of being triggered I've gotten better at managing my anger by working on how I communicate, but when I'm triggered it all goes to hell and idk how to cope either

Just something to think about have you tried prayer and councilling. I won't ask why you have ptsd its not my business. You could get in a kayak and paddle around a peaceful setting in the Boundy Waters or The Colorado River all day or a week. Whatever you need to make peace with yourself. That's who you have to live with, not the person. Who or the situation that wronged you. I know I've been there too.

FORGOT TO MENTION THIS I also crochet a lot! Helps because I don't have to look at anyone or focus on anything else besides making dumb stuff out of dumb yarn basically.
Personally I do a lot of boxing, I'd recommend it. Eventually I'll tire myself out with my punching bag so even if I did want to act on the feeling I won't be able to. I'm a pretty tired person unless I'm angry so idk how well it works for other people but it works well for me.
