For 30+ years I've had intermittent moderate to severe lower back pain that comes and goes and is initiated by what I eat. In general its sugars of all sorts: starches- bread, potatoes, rice, pasta; fruit = the sugar; spaghetti sauce, BBQ sauce, almost any good sauce; cheese; fried stuff, spicy stuff. I'm very active, workout almost daily (martial artist for 40+ years) The older I get the fewer things I eat my body is willing to tolerate and that brings on the back pain. Past two months it has been nearly constant. There has not been any recent back injury to cause this. I've asked Drs. over the past decades what this back pain due to what I eat might be and they all shrug their shoulders. They say they've never heard anything like it. I'm not diabetic - A1C = 5.4. Anyone have something similar? I'd just like to know what it is and any alternative ways of dealing with it or treating it other than not eating anything that tastes good. What's up, doc?

Ivory. I have suffered since 1998 if that tells you anything. I have had about 20 or more trigger point injections, 4 Epidurals, one hip injection, and take 3-4 Tramadols per day and sometimes Hydrocodone to get me through the night. Has anyone see ever mentioned Fibromyalgia to you? Since you have suffered so long, that might be a possibility. That doesn't mean you don't have other problems too. We all end up with a pain doctor as that is usually where most end up. Back problems are very hard to diagnose or successfully treat. I have noticed trauma or excitement/nervousness make mine much worse. I am seriously thinking about getting one of those upright walkers. They are awesome and it feels do good. It wouldn't help at home unless your home is extremely large as they take up space. You get to the point you start searching for anything that gives you relief. I really don't have a lot of faith in the SI Joint injection but if it does help, I will let you know. It has to be an injection that is specific to the SI Joint. I love sugar and heard that can make pain worse. Never ending isn't it! Let me know if I can help. God Bless!

@Betalou Thanks for sharing your experience. Yes, it's tough with back issues. I hope your shot works. God bless. Thanks again.
