Is anyone concerned with side effects of Clonazepam, like sleepiness? How do you deal with it?

@Alicia4475 50mg that’s pretty high, I was taking 0.5mg daily and it was raised to 1mg because of the pandemic back in 2020. I think you got you mg wrong .. 50 mg could be an antidepressant… 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have been taking clonopin 2 MG twice a day for 25 years! I find myself just trying to do one a day now! It has been a life saver for me! It started when I was 10 and struggled with huge anxiety so I started drinking to calm down but then the process made me more anxious so I finally stop drinking and found clonopin! Wished I would have known earlier in life that I could take a pill to curb my anxiety instead of drinking 😥But hey,I'm alive!🥳🥳🥳

I take 2mg, 3 X’s a day and have since 1994. I have Bipolar 2, Severe Anxiety & PTSD. It’s been so long now, I simply can’t and won’t stop taking it. I’m aware I’m completely addicted to it; But I’m not willing to go through the horrific, dangerous withdrawals!!

I take it every day both in the morning and at night. It's one of my seizure medications

I have taken it since 2013 and at first I was tired constantly. Now my body is used to it and I function just fine.

I've been taking it for years and my body has adjusted to it. Idk what I'd be like without that magic little pill

I'm so scared to take it long term but antidepressants don't agree with me...ugghh I just need a brain transplant

@Alicia4475 they aren’t meant for long term. I dont believe docs are even allowed prescribing them long term anymore.. new rules which is about time. A doc can cut you off anytime if they want to as well, then you get horrific withdrawals.

@Fairydust I've been taking 4 MG a day for 25 years, and have no side affects, and also no more anxiety 😘

@Fairydust not true. They can still be prescribed long term. I have a prescription that states as needed.

Xanax has always worked better for me. Slowed my HR, decreased physical anxiety and helped me focus without feeling sleepy, but able to sleep when I laid down. Since they put me on Klonopin, it puts me to sleep, leaves me groggy and irritable and does nothing for my symptoms that Xanax was used to treat I will be going back to Xanax when I can find Dr. I think everyone's make up is different. So my situation or results may not apply. But thought I'd share.

If you are highly anxious (that’s when you should take it) it should just help you calm down & feel more relaxed. You can always take a half/quarter of the dose & see how you do when you first take it. Also- talk to your doctor if you have any concerns.

I've been on clonozepam a very long time. You can't just stop taking it. The withdrawals are very uncomfortable before this I was on Xanax. Xanax is something you wouldn't want to start taking it's very addicting so clonozepam is a better choice

Over time of using it, it doesn't make me sleepy anymore, just normal really. I take .5 mg as needed, 1 mg when things get out of control. Been on it since about 2006

I've been taking clonazepam for years at .05mg. everyday and I don't get tired. I am prescribed to allow for twice a day if needed but rarely take the 2nd dose. Although, when I do that 2nd dose can make me a bit sleepy at first but within a half hour I'm good to go!

Usually makes me feel sleepy or kinda out of it for like 30 min after taking it then I'm good...like I can really tackle the day. The calm feeling usually lasts like 48 hours for me. But I only take .50 mgs if I really need it. I try to only take it once a week or when I've gone days of uncontrollable anxiety

@Alicia4475 I feel anxiety a lot. I try concentrating on other things. I work part time. I really don't want to take any meds, but, I just not sure what to do.

@Peanut55 And Peanut I forgot to say,it does not make me drowsy at all! And I take 2 MG at a time

@Peanut55 Hi Peanut55. I take .5 mgs 2x a day or as needed It really helps me calm down. Especially when I have abdominal pain

The first time I used clonazepam was at night, and it did make me feel slightly sleepy. After that I didn't notice that as a side effect at all. All it does for me anymore is stop my panic attacks. Though, I refuse to drive if I've taken it, just in case.
