Had a PE in 2015, went on a course of Xarelto and was told I could stop after 6 months and follow-up testing didn't find any clotting disorders. Doctors could never tell me why I had one. I, oddly, never had symptoms of either the PE or DVT. It was found during a hospital stay for another reason. Should I have stayed on Xarelto? What are my chances of having another clot? I had been a heavy binge drinker at the time and, if I remember correctly, had been bed bound for days.
