ummm I don't know what to write really but I'm going to start with a question. I have always been on the lower height and weight side of things so doctors continue to tell me I'm fine after they see how low I weigh. but I think I have an ED. I have always had problems eating anything can make me not want to eat at all, from the texture to the smell, and if I cook it myself it's even worse I think I'm going to die because I made the food wrong or something like that. I have had low vitamin d, vitamin b and low iron but all at different times. Does this mean I do have an ED or I can't because I have always been low weighted.

hey I have a very similar experience! I’m very short and was underweight for most of my life. the funny thing is that my eating disorder tendencies have been far stronger since I’ve reached a healthy weight. I have a lot of food-related sensory issues and agree with the comment above that it could be something like OCD or a form of sensory processing disorder (let me know if you would like more info about this). please forget about the technicalities of what qualifies as an ED. being naturally slim or always having been a low weight for whatever reason should not trivialize someone’s experience with disordered eating. if you feel like you may have an eating disorder, you deserve to be heard about that. I hope you get the support you need and I am happy to offer resources if you are interested!

actually those sort of food rituals and not being able to eat something because of like one little thing are symptoms of ocd. people don’t realize that for some, ocd can take over your enjoyment of food. this can also be anxiety. i suggest talking to a therapist maybe
