Starting Hydroxyzine: Looking for Experiences

I was prescribed this for anxiety but it makes me pass out within 30 mins so that wasn’t going to work- my anxiety is worse in public so I could just take it for anxiety and not be able to function. I do take it now since my allergies got really bad and and having a really hard time sleeping due to pain and anxiety. I now I take it nightly for that. It does help reduce anxious thoughts at night and help me fall asleep but doesn’t help me stay asleep.

I was taling it as needed for about 2 years. And it helped SO much. When I would be having a panic attack, I could take a dose and it would help bring me back down. Now I'm on a low dose twice a day and as needed. For me it quite my mind a bit. It tends to just help to keep me relaxed enough to go about my everyday life. The biggest side effect is drowsiness. It usually will wear off pretty quickly, but the medicine is made to help you relax. I take 25mg as needed and it tends to make me pretty sleepy. And I take 10mg twice a day, and that made me sleepy at first, but it went away within about a month

I've been taking it since 2018 when I was diagnosed with panic disorder. I've had the dose increased a couple times since then but it works great for calming me down from a panic attack or even stopping one if I'm on the verge. I know a lot of people get sleepy from it but I've never had that effect.
