Gabapentin, originally prescribed for my migraines but it helps with nerve pain, baclofen for pain, trazodone for sleep.

Gabapentin, cymbalta, Flexeril for sleep not muscle relaxer...for 20 years this combo has worked well for me.

I tried duloxetine which didn’t help me and was difficult to come off of. I took tramadol as needed for a while, which helped but not amazingly. It may have caused low respiration at night, and it can’t be taken with naltrexone, so I stopped it. I am now on low dose naltrexone (LDN). I just started about a month ago, so I can’t say much about it yet as it normally gets better with time (some patient even describe continued improvement after a year or two on the same dose). But I am noticing an impact on my fatigue!!! I’ve felt more “alive” and able to do more things than I normally can. I’ve been able to be a bit more active, and I don’t feel like I’m pushing myself until the physical fatigue comes rolling in. It’s hard to describe, but I used to feel all over super fatigued when I did much, feeling mentally fatigued and really overwhelmed and tired and like everything around me was turning to syrup. Now I’m not feeling that feeling as much, I can just tell my body physically needs a break - like I’ve walked too much for the day or something. Anyways, I’m feeling hopeful about LDN now. I think it will be giving me a better quality of life. We’ll see if it helps much with pain. There’s a lot of promising research about LDN for fibro, ME/CFS, POTS, even Crohn’s and SIBO. And it can be stopped or dose changed at any time without withdrawals 🥹❤️ so it feels like an amazing option that’s really worth looking in to.

@ginkgowink amazing!! I may be trying that next then

        604d

@ginkgowink I also take supplements - turmeric, vit D, magnesium, things for sleep, sometimes CBD. Nothing is super obviously helping, but cumulatively I’m doing better than I was before I started them. I’m going to start IBgard for IBS and hopefully CoQ10 (in form of ubiquinol) which those with ME/CFS often take to help with energy production. We’ll see 🤷‍♀️

@ginkgowink my doc just started me on CoQ10 but just like a regular pill from the shelf at the grocery store pharmacy. What is ubiquinol? Is that different and is it better?

I’ve tried savella, lyrica, gabapetin, duloxetine. None were right for me. It wasn’t worth The side effects. I take cbd oil and when I’m really bad thc gummies

Only cannabis helps my nerve pain. Opioids are my next option, but usually something that's worst case scenario, rather than a "treatment", per say.

Cymbalta and Gabapentin for about 10ish yrs now

Honestly even my Dr agrees nothing really helps medication wise. I do find ingesting not smoking or vaping.. THC helps. My Dr gas advised to avoid CBD. (Medical card)

        @Lady_Dreadful why avoid CBD?

Just started gabapentin myself and it's only been a few days so nothing spectacular has happened as of yet. Was on Cymbalta before this and it didn't help much at all even at the super high doses.

I alternate different pain relievers because they all process differently. Tylenol, gabapentin, and CBD. I am also on duloxentine for daily medication which targets nerve function and helps depression.

      • Pixiemom88

        614d

@Doglover25006 do u mind if I ask how naltrexone helps and what vita

        • Doglover25006

          613d

@Pixiemom88 it’s an off label use. Naltrexone is fda approved for I forget what conditions, but being researched for fibro treatment. The theory is that fibro could **not is** cause by inflammation in the brain. Naltrexone is the only anti-inflammatory that can cross the blood brain barrier. I take 25mg because that’s cheap at the regular pharmacy. 5-10mg is the therapeutic dose for fibro where as for other conditions people take hundreds of mg. Anything lower than the 50mg pills that I break in half need to be made at a compounding pharmacy which is super expensive.

    • coffeemama

I take gabapentin. Its very helpful. I still have quite a bit of pain but it has definitely made a difference.
