I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced the feeling that I'm laying on rocks when I lay on my left side. I've had hip pain on both sides for years from arthritis, and/or bursitis. However I haven't been able to lay on my left side for at least a year now, because it feels like I'm laying on a bed of rocks. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, did anything help? I told my pain management Medical Assistant and she wrote it off, saying it might be from the bursitis. Part of the reason I'm concerned is because I have to sleep on my side, and now the right side is becoming more painful from over use. Any suggestions or help is appreciated, thank you.

When I lay on my right side, I get the pain in my left hip. I'm guessing it's from my lower back being messed up. But when I walk my left hip/groin area would just give out, sharp pain and all. I'd fall to the floor if there wasn't something to hold onto in front of me. I'm not seeing anyone for pain management atm. But my dr is sick of seeing me I'm sure.

No, but I have pain under the rib cage on both sides. I’m RA and O arthritis plus Fibromyalgia too! I would suggest using a heating pad ; my best friend! 👍

I have had similar experiences and do believe it's coming from your bursitis or arthritis. It's been several years since my last episode, only because I am no longer on my feet for up to 10 hrs a day. What I did to help was to massage from the hip bone down to the upper thigh with a handheld knobby massager (not the vibrating kind) with massage oils/lotion, especially after work. I also took an Epsom salt bath and used a heating pad right before going to bed. I had a spring mattress at the time and that did not help at all. I have a Purple bed now. It was the best investment I have ever made!!

Wow, your pain management sounds like mine. Seen him 3 times. Each time worse than before. I don't see pain management anymore. What your problem is? That I don't know. Wish I did. I apologize but all I can think of is a pillow between your knees & maybe some turmeric tea or supplements. I know you have to keep "yelling" until someone hears you. I have been yelling for 2 years & finally have a doctor that is really helping me. Not there yet but way closer than I have been in 2 years. Bestest of luck to you!!!

@TabbysMom thanks, I did have a great pain management doctor but he suddenly left the practice and I don't know if they are going to replace him or not. I've been with this practice for 8 years and have had at least 3 different doctors. Hopefully they'll get a new doctor, because it can be hard to find a good doctor. Thanks again!
