Does anyone else with fibromyalgia work a full time job?

I am currently working a full time job. I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia. For years I have been feeling very bad. Pain throughout my body, thinking it’s arthritis. But I just kept getting worse. It was fibromyalgia. I’m also exhausted and I find myself calling in at least one day a week. I feel better when I don’t work 5 days. I am looking for remote work, I am not going to “push” through. My body is not strong enough to do that. Also my fibromyalgia is stress related. I always had pain when I was scheduled to be at work. I would be good the entire weekend and Monday morning in pain. 🤔 I have 24 years at this job that has a 30 year retirement plan. I am only 50. My health is more important to me than anything else. Without it I don’t have anything. There’s no quality of life laying around all weekend because you’re too tired to move. I don’t know what your current situation is. Skills and knowledge, but I would suggest finding something to do at home. Even hybrid is better than being committed to 5 days a week. Best of luck to everyone on this journey!

I have fibro, chronic migraine, and widespread nerve pain. I'm a teacher. It's difficult and I am usually completely exhausted and useless outside of work, but I need the paycheck and the benefits to survive. I just have to push through, then use summers to recover.

I am a teacher and I find that sometimes my pain is a problem but I push through. I can't afford not to work.

I do, it's rough but I push on through spite. Granted it ruins most people believing me and my symptoms but there is little else I can do.

I have Fibromyalgia, Lupus, RA and EDS. I worked full time until my 50's. It was super hard.

@coolsciencechic I have RA, OA, Fibromyalgia. I work FT I'm in my 50's, I'm also in school completing a degree and getting ready to launch a small business in a few days. The past few weeks have been very difficult for me, I'm having nerve issues due to the OA in my spine. I have OA every where.

@coolsciencechic I am 50 and it is getting harder and harder. What type of meds do u take for it?

@Mshelton I took Hydroxychloroquine, prednisone and ibuprofen for 28 years. I had a retina change so I am off the Hydroxychloroquine. I have a new Rheumatologist and she has me off ibuprofen and wants me off prednisone. I am now on methotrexate.
