am I the only one who's been told by people who claim to love you (and people who could care less) that you aren't as bad off as you think you are and that the majority of your issue is 'in your head'?

My dad’s favorite line is “don’t put yourself in a box.” Buddy I’m disabled. I physically cannot do some things. It’s so frustrating.

You are definitely not alone in that. My sister especially would say that up until my second surgery when my really well respected surgeon explained I wouldn’t ever be rid of this disease and it was more about quality of life than anything else. Shook a lot of things into perspective for my sister.

You are not alone. I had a good day a few months ago where I was able to sit on the floor and use my upper body to put together an IKEA storage unit. I then slept most of the next 2 days! My dad came round and saw it and said "I thought you were incapable of doing anything". After watching me struggle for the last 8 years or so, that kind of hurt. Especially as he knows I visit his flat every other weekend in a lot of pain and suffer a lot of fatigue because his flat is on the first floor (2nd floor for Americans).

Your definitely not alone. My grandmother tells me every day I see her all my health problems are either in my head or due to my weight and I need to lose 200lbs. (Hugs)

Nope. You're definitely not the only one. Lots of us go thru issues with family and friends saying unhelpful and sometimes hurtful stuff like that. :(. (Hugs)
