I definitely wish you the best! It might sound silly, but in these situations, I like to write a list of pros and cons and then see where that goes first. Then I think about what is fair for me and fair for the person of interest. It sounds like you are putting in a lot of effort and aren't receiving much in return other than how he can make you feel happy and less lonely.

Oh my goodness @bellacourse! I can't imagine what you are going through. But do maybe try to get your courage up to tell him your feelings if you haven't already. He may not know how he's making you feel. Guys aren't always the brightest when it comes to the subtle things of relationships and what they say and how they act and how all that affects us.
