I just remembered something really embarrassing from 2018 when I had my first therapist. I was 15 or 16 and she made me sign basic paperwork for whatever and I remember her telling me I was going to be taking some papers home with me so when she gave me a paper, she made me write something on it (I can't remember what) and she started talking with my mom. I then started to fold the paper to fit in my pocket and just to have something to do with my hands while she was talking to my mom honestly. She looked at me and said "I know what you're doing." and kinda half laughed. I was so confused but then she told me to give her the paper back and I realized she thought I was folding the paper neatly to pretend I had ocd or something since it was our first meeting. I was embarrassed and already didn't want to be seen as an "attention seeker" or "faker" so it just made it so much more embarrassing for me even if it was never my intention to fake any disorder.

anyone else had a similar experience? lol

therapists taking assumptions to an anxiety disorder it sounds like tbh. too many "doctors" trying to fit you inside a box and there is probably more than that !
