I've been turned down by nearly every company I apply for, the ones that don't life always finds a way to mess it up. maybe it's me, it makes me think im useless or I'm doing something wrong. I'm told the bar is unrealistically high but still to be rejected twice and see a job be posted a 3rd time am i really so bad they refuse me twice?

@Cece7 i guess you could consider it a compliment that they think you're over qualified and too ambitious to work there because you'll end up leaving themđ”đ”đ”

hey, i'm sorry the job application process has been brutal to you. i just wanted to encourage you in that those rejections don't define you and it's okay not to have a clear way forward the first time you apply for jobs... or the second, third, or tenth. job apps are unforgiving and exhausting by nature, but sometimes things just line up where they don't see all of the talents, virtues, and help you can bring to the table. you're not worthless, and i'm sure you'll land where you need to be, when you're ready to be. cheering for you, OP âĄ

Iâm sorry you feel this rejection. My husband had an issue recently with an interview not working out and I told him as a way to comfort that these companies donât know what theyâre doing. Theyâre valuing the wrong things whether itâs years experience or age or whatever. A good employer will look at character, see good morals and how you speak to people and pick you based on your good qualities. Theyâll recognize good work ethic and how you behave in different situations. Of course you need the experience as well but being someone who treats others well should always be the top of the list. So perhaps itâs better off that it didnât work for you and hopefully you find a good company to work for soon! And donât feel that you wasted your time because now youâve practiced this process and will do even better the next time! If it makes you feel better I was rejected by a grocery store (everyone even horrible law breaking people I knew got accepted to work there) I applied to when I was 17 and they just decided I wasnât worth hiring. and my brother as a college student and 4.0 gpa was rejected from working at McDonalds. Honestly I think some people are just not bright when it comes to hiring and you shouldnât take it personally!
I relate! And I know rejection is rough. Itâs helped me to realize the difference between experiences and identity. Just because you experienced rejection does not mean that there is something wrong with you or that you arenât worthy of a fulfilling job. Your identity is much deeper than a surface level interview! Your identity is something that evolves and grows over time. The fact that youâre on this app seeking advice is great and shows that youâre looking for an opportunity to grow or seek a new perspective đ Good luck in your job interviewing journey. You got this! Ps. I made it to an in person interview at Google twice after rigorous interview loops & I was rejected twice đ. It hurt but now Iâm at a different tech company & I have the ability to work fully remote (Google doesnât allow full remote). So this path was meant for me! đ
@Greenbird i really appreciate that, imposter syndrome sneaks in. I believe in fate too and im glad it worked in your favor
