I am experiencing chronic heartburn that is very painful. My Dr put me on medication that does not help. Has anyone else experienced this? Have you found anything that helps?

Saw the GI Dr this week. He did a bunch of blood work and us having me get a CT and Endoscopy... he said it could be that past surgeries damaged my vagus nerve, or just because my insides aren't exactly normal, or liver stones, but he doesn't really know as of yet.

I’m on 40mg of Prilosec twice a day. It helps quite a bit. The only problem I have is it has a small aftertaste.

It's 40mg... I have an apt with gastro next week we'll see what they say...

Is it 20mg or 40? 20 wasn't enough for me. It was so hard to stop tea. I can drink it again now, but only a cup a day. Also, vinaigrettes are another one. I used them all the time on chicken trying to be healthy. Then I found out it was making me worse 🙃

Thanks, pantoprazole is what my Dr has me on now. The heartburn is less painful, but I'm still having it every day unfortunately... I don't drink alcohol, but I do love garlic and tea! I might have to cut back...

I take 40 mg of pantoprazole. I've been on it for years and it helps a lot. Changing my diet has made the biggest difference. Minimal tomatoes, garlic, and onions. I avoid alcohol and caffeine.
