Yesterday I slept through therapy and was an hour late to work and slept 12 hours. today I slept past my tattoo appointment and slept a total of 14 hours. I haven't been staying up late so I have no idea why my body is doing this to me. my whole life I've had chronic exhaustion. I cried for the first time in a long time when I woke up today. I do have a sleep doctor appointment next month but what if they can't help me? does anyone else experience this? I'm almost afraid to go to sleep at all at this point

I don't know how to relax and I've been on antidepressants my whole life. Even when I have a regular sleep schedule for a few months it's super easy to get off track. Idk hopefully the sleep doctor can help me at least a little bit. I'm really worried that I'll never be able to get the slightest help for my depression and anxiety but I've been coming to terms with the fact that no treatment or meds will be able to help. But if I can't get a hold of my sleep and energy I don't know if I can handle dealing with that for much longer.

@Nagem01 have you tried any therapy/medication for your anxiety? If your anxiety is bad enough that you cannot relax and goes untreated it can definitely hinder your ability to treat a lot of your other conditions, stress is one of the worst things for your health and it's an important step in any kind of recovery to learn how to destress and relax in a healthy way.

That sounds like chronic fatigue syndrome. It's one of my more disabling issues and if I dont take care of myself properly I can sleep for entire 24 hour periods. There isnt really a cure or approved treatment but for some people antidepressants help and for others monitoring your personal natural sleep cycles and making sure you get enough sleep and relaxation outside of sleep. Typically I sleep about 10 hours a night, my sleep cycles in 2hour periods so if I take a nap it must be 2-4 hours or I get sick/don't wake up, and I have to take breaks between tasks to relax. Stress, insomnia, chronic pain, poor mental health, and, like everything, neglecting your base needs can make it get worse.
