I just feel like I'm not good at anything I do.. my writing and art I feel like are all bad and I can't even do either of them today because of it.

I feel like that some days. I have learned that if I don't like what I am doing, then try something I never thought about trying. It just might be your true talent. Never give up on trying something new. Who knows...you might get inspired to paint better or write better. The best thing in life is to try, even if things don't work out at the end. Just make sure to use necessary safety and never do thing alone if it's a life risk(surfing, cave exploring, sky diving, rock climbing, ect.

You don't have to be good at something to enjoy it. Everyone can sing, paint, write, whatever, creation is an inherent part of humanity. You may also be in a secondary stage of skill learning where you're consciously incompetent (sounds bad but isn't). You are good enough at what you are doing to be able to see the mistakes you're making, but not quite good enough yet to know how to stop them. Check out the Conscious Competence learning model, that's helped me get through rough patches where I'm not happy with what I'm making

@ajar I'll check this learning model out! I've never heard of it. I just saw everyone's replies and I appreciate all of you š„ŗ
Three things: first of all, you can't get better if you don't keep creating. Second of all, every artist hates 99% of their art (I'm an artist too). Third of all, art is completely subjective. One person's favorite piece is another person's lease favorite. There is someone out there who will love your art, even the pieces you hate most of all.

I paint and write and a lot of the time I feel like Iām not good enough but then I just remind myself that the reason I do them is more for me than anyone else. Maybe try and focus more on the joy being creative brings than what other people might think of your work š
I bet your art is awesome!!!!
I hope this helps.. and I'm really proud of you!!
The way I combat my block or anxiety about it: if I don't feel like I'm happy with my painting, I start with one color that I know I like, then I start painting. If I mess up, I'll cover the canvas with that color to hide what I did, I'll wait for it to dry, and then I'll find another color that goes with the first one, and paint on top. Even if it's just dots or squiggles on top, I still end up enjoying it and having fun. For writing: Writing is harder for me to handle, but when I have difficulty writing, I start writing about that difficulty, then I start writing my thoughts as I have them. It doesn't always make sense, but it feels better to get the thoughts out and I can organize them later and turn it into something better.
i definitely relate to this. i wish i liked the art that i create more, and that it came more easily to me. itās an awful feeling to feel like youāre not good at anything you doā¦i would know, iām sorry. i bet your art and writing are better than you think they are! and itās all subjective!
