I've been on Wellbutrin for a minute now. I barely eat & feel super on edge. Very emotional. I feel like the side effects are worse than the thing being treated.... Anyone relate? oh & does anyone take Wellbutrin + birth control & have issues?

@Mop i had no appetite when i was in on Wellbutrin also but it really helped me with everything else though… it just made me lose weight too much and ever since i was taken off of it, i still am loosing weight and can’t even bring it back

I hated this drug because it made me feel like I couldn’t cry and I felt numb

Did you ever discontinue the Wellbutrin? I was VERY emotional as well - waited the 3 months. But stopped the 150xl 4.5 days ago. If so, did you have any withdrawal?

@Believeinyoself I got switched to Zoloft which stunted my sex drive drastically. Now I've been switched to trintellix. I didn't have any withdrawal coming off of Wellbutrin. But everyone is different

My little sister and I both take wellbutrin. She struggles with appetite issues a lot, especially if she doesn't take it at the right time of day. But she has gained a huge boost in energy and motivation. I haven't seen either of those effects.

I responded very very well to Wellbutrin, but Lexapro was awful. Maybe this isn’t the right med for you.

Depends on when you take it. Is it XR? Wellbutrin can cause 2 things. Irritability as well as anxious and feeling on edge. So it's important to know the dose, what time you take it. Are you taking it the same time everyday. I had to switch to XR early in the morning so it doesn't hit me at once. Do you take anything else with it. I take an anti anxiety med at night so they balance each other out pretty well now. I'm on wellbutrin 450mg XR now and I take seraquel to balance it out

I take wellbutrin and I have the nexplanon implant in my arm. But I have the same problem. I don't really eat. But I haven't had any issues with being on both of them

@Bridges my appetite is basically non-existent. Sucks. Don't think it's for me

Wellbutrin works a bit differently than other antidepressants. It's an NDRI instead of an SSRI or SNRI. It is also used for ADHD (it’s not a stimulant though) so it can increase some of those emotional reactions. I'm on it too. Not birth control but the Wellbutrin and the side effects for me went away after about a month or so.

Early on when I started Wellbutrin, I had little to no appetite. It took me a while to get used to the effects. I had a hard time for a while with intrusive thoughts of SH, worthlessness, and self hatred. I've talked to a few people who have taken Wellbutrin and several told me they experienced similar things. I can't speak on taking it with birth control though

@Ghostofthematrix well I assumed the birth control is what makes me super emotional... Which I expected. I feel like the effects are worse than what it was intended to help. :/

I'm taking welbutrin and errin (mini pill) I've been on both for about 6ish months now. I had issues with anger for the 1st 3 or so months on welbutrin and then my anxiety causes me to be pretty emotional. So we added zoloft about 2 months ago and that's helped a bit. Have you had ringing in your ears at all?

@HoneybeeBunny I've only been on it for maybe 2 months now... It's made me more anxious than I was before. I'm honestly not a fan. I have had zero ringing in my ears.
