Direct Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (dTMS) changed my life! I still take medication, but much lower dosages than before. Currently I am on my third round of dTMS (in three years). The suicidal ideation went completely away during week 3 of my first round of dTMS, and has never returned (that was 3 years ago). My sleep improved. I will never forget the day that I had this feeling- all day long- that I couldn’t put a word to. By the end of the day I realized that it was contentment. I had been content for an entire day, with no negative or spiraling thoughts. After 25+ years of suffering, when I first felt contentment, I did not know what it was!

Is this similar to shock therapy?
Yeah, someone please comment with dTMS info! I've heard about it but my psychiatrist didn't wanna go for it. I'm with a new one so it might happen 🤷♂️

The Kats Pajamas - Vyvanse gave me that. An entire day where I began to lay me down to sleep and recognised something was different, then ironically spent the next 5-10 minutes building stress trying to figure out what felt off (asd alexithymia problems dont help) until I realised it was simply that "I didnt have the overwhelming urge to 86 today." And then 🥲 and some real understanding and self-forgiveness followed. A close friend with heavy depression and anxiety has also praised dTMS and now I'm extra curious. Is this covered by insurances for anything or am I looking for a private clinic out of pocket?
I’m starting to feel this way too. Having something to do with my hands (ie, I enjoy crocheting and knitting) and hobbies for de-stress days helps me

I've seen a lot of people talking about how their meds seem to stop working after a while, so it seems like a somewhat common thing. The best I've advised I've seen is just telling your doctor that it's no longer working and you can try either increasing the dose, adding different meds, or changing altogether.

Change meds. I have been on most of them. Took years to figure it out.
