my husband just told me that a few days ago he was going to kill himself.. we had a friend over and it was the middle of the night, the friend heard a gunshot go off, tried to get me up but I didn't get up, she went and found my husband outside with his gun.. he didn't admit to anything then... he will not seek help... I'm sick to my stomach over this...

I would recommend calling 911. Or 211. 911 is going to be more immediate and at the end of the day this is serious shit. He needs something and doctors are going to be the right step. 211 is a resource hotline. They may have information about different resources in your area to help especially with after care as sometimes that can be overlooked. If he is refusing to get help then sit him down and explain how in your relationship, you wouldn't stand if someone hurt you or him. This hurt both of you. And the best way is to get him help because not only does he need it but you do as well. You would do anything to help him. Get the information and act upon it. Also, a little bit down the road of recovery, when he is okay, maybe suggest couples counseling to better heal this and have an action plan. Hide all medications, knives, guns, and anything he can use against himself. Personal experience: you will regret it if you don't say anything and let it go. I live everyday with so many regrets and guilt because of similar situations. Message me if you need anything. I mean it. I wished I wasn't alone and in this situation, I would gladly help you to the best of my ability.

from personal experience i would recommend calling 911 and asking for him to be under psych hold. or calling the non emergency line and seeing what they can do to help him get admitted. i’m so sorry you are having to carry this alone right now. it’s not fair.

I made my husband get rid of his gun because he was acting like this, make sure he knows how much you love him and need him to to be okay. I hope he is willing to seek help and get in a better mindset, I'm sorry you have to go through this

This may seem insensitive but call 911...he shouldn't be in possession of a firearm...cause what if God forbid he tried that again but this time he doesn't miss...please for your sake and your family's call 911
