I've been on a med propranolol (for anxiety) since feburary (2020) I think. I've been taking it consitently as possible for almost as long. It doesn't seem to be working. My anxiety almost seems to have sky rocketed. I've been thinking of talking to my mental health team to see about getting a new med to replace it. Should I talk to them right away or wait a little longer to see how this plays out with this med before doing that? Anyone else who takes it for Anxiety or the like please help.

From my understanding propranolol is prescribed to help with the physical symptoms of anxiety such as racing heart and trouble breathing. I’m also on propranolol since September and feel the same- it’s not something that’s helping me mentally. It’s probably best to talk to your team sooner than later to prevent feeling worse. Best to you
Now would be a good time. Im on propranolol for a heart condition but i also have anxiety and i did a blood test to see what medications work best with my DNA. Try that, it takes away the guesswork. Im on paxil and i love it
