I have the hardest time with thyroid pills. Any time I have to change doctors, they decide to mess with things because doctors aren't used to prescribing T3 instead of T4. I just finished 2 years dealing with an endocrinologist who wouldn't do it. I got married in March and switched insurance, and doctors, and got fortunate to get assigned to a young, open minded one who said my TSH looks fine so let's leave you on what you're on. I had finally resorted to "black market" T3 and confessed it to him. I don't recommend that to anyone except as a desperate last resort. I figured a year and a half of dosage changes, blood tests and a pituitary MRI were enough. Low thyroid affects my bipolar mood swings so, it's really important for me to not only stay on my psych meds but also on the right dose and type of thyroid. The standard TSH test isn't always the best one to go by. If you think maybe you're not on a high enough dose, ask your doctor to also do free T3 and free T4 blood tests also. If those are below mid range of the normal scale, ask to have your dosage increased until it's at least mid range or higher.

Hi 😁 I'm diabetic, overweight, hypothyroid and my hair is finally getting healthier now that I'm back on the right dose of thyroid. Sounds like we have a lot in common 😝🤣

@wabe yes it does! My dr thinks I'm on the right dose, but I don't feel better. I'm good for about 5 hours then I would love to sleep.
