UGH. I just got to get this out. I'm so frustrated with my dad. he is so incredibly rude. his manners are just awful. he can never just act like an adult. it is emotionally draining. he's such a child. he very rarely offers to help and he is incredibly ungrateful and entitled. at the Dinosaur Island gardens today with my son and nephews and my older sister, before we went, he said "we're going to see flowers too right? because I could care less about dinosaurs" and at the garden, he kept sighing reeaally loudly with his lips together as if to say "Ugh I'm bored". when we were in the McDonald's line he couldn't wait patiently for his sandwich when they needed us to park and wait. he said "the baby crying is stressing me out" but he is never proactive so he had my sister go inside and ask them for it. I picked him up and drove him to my sister's. my sister cleaned out her car so we could be comfortable as she drove us to the place. he never drives (sold his car in 2018) and he never offers to pay for gas. it's all take and no give, from him. it would be one thing if he was actually grateful but he never thinks of others, only himself. my sister, my one other sister, and me are the only people who still see him but it is getting incredibly difficult to still see him since it is so draining. you'd think he would be more grateful. he pushes everyone away with his negativity. the worst part is I try to help as much as I can and offer to help is many ways and he rejects half of it because he doesn't want to get better. it's driving me crazy.

@Irelan I used to cuddle and watch basketball with my dad too.. at least there are good memories. Some people have none whatsoever...

@YanyLaurel Oh gosh. Yeah, mine has no excuse besides being ignorant. He has his own business as a repair shop for electronics. He's pretty good at it, and he has two shops, but that doesn't change anything. And what's bad is when I was little, we would always cuddle before bed and watch basketball. I can't sit next to him without an anxiety flare up.

Yes my dad was/is the same! All growing up before my parents separated and before he moved out, he was ALWAYS, always always on the computer. We even got a nanny because he wasn't doing anything ever.. He was the stay at home parent. And all growing up he paid attention to us MAYBE 10% of the time. He has skitzoaffective (sp?) disorder and we didn't know until a few years ago. It's like bipolar but with more psychosis..

I completely understand this. My dad is like this, and he never wants to talk or actually accept my conditions. He is always on his computer and playing a game. It is so annoying. It's degrading and annoying that I am afraid to talk to anyone about this, because I am afraid they would call social services or something. He's not hurting anyone, but he's rude and selfish.
