Does anyone diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder often feel confused or have jumbled thoughts? My thought process never feels fluid except one period of time when I was on anti-psychotics that worked for a bit.

Oh my god itā€™s so relieving to find a whole thread like this!!! I have huge issues with memory and confusion and I feel stupid compared to other people who can like, talk fluidly when my thoughts come in almost jumps and are totally jumbled. I feel like I canā€™t talk right or think right and itā€™s so frustrating

Yes, yes, yes! My thoughts are not often coherent and they are not fluid. I have the depressive type, not even the bipolar type, so it's not mania. I don't know what that's about... glad someone can relate

YES. When I'm off meds or during episodes I feel very confused and disoriented. Like my thoughts don't string together correctly and I can't do anything. Even on meds I slur my words sometimes and have difficulty doing things in my head like math or anything complicated like that. Just gets too muddled

Being on antipsychotics for me has completely gotten rid of my disordered thinking but I can completely understand where you're coming from!

@trin20t sometimes I hear windchimes when they are warning me of something or someone. I always that that was really interesting

Yes! I have schizoeffective and often my thoughts are muted. My voices sometimes help me think for a minute which is funny. It's like they help me cope at times and other times I can't think good at all without freaking out. Then my voices turn helpful. Like it's a warning to get help from another person.

When I've been in my manic episodes, it always felt like this thought salad.. You need to get some help before it messes with your daily function. Good luck!
