I usually call my family and ask how they're doing, keeping the conversation as focused on them and their day as possible. Or I'll go for a drive, a walk, or a scooter ride. There doesn't have to be a destination in mind, but often times I'll wind up at the gas station and will pick up a vitamin water or decaf coffee. Comedy bits are very helpful. Brushing my teeth or having a quick rinse usually feels nice for the moment. If I find myself needing to cope, it generally means I'm not able to focus too well so I'll choose a short story or collection of letters to read rather than trying to commit to a novel. Ice water, tea, and/or milk also seem to have a soothing effect when I'm feeling overwhelmed and need an outlet. Best wishes 🌷

Mine are unhealthy and I probably need therapy. Sex and alcohol is how I cope. I keep telling myself that I will cut down when I am ready.

Hiking or going for a walk, video games, weed, taking a bath or shower, baking, listening to my vinyl collection, reading, drawing, crocheting, getting bubble tea, going to an interesting store, seeing botanical gardens, gardening, taking a trip to a museum, day trip to somewhere scenic, having a picnic, doing a sensory deprivation/saltwater tank float, booking a hotel or cabin all come to mind. Hopefully this gives you some ideas!
