I haven’t named my crutch yet, but I named my hearing aids. Except now I’m getting new ones, and I’d feel guilty if I recycled the names… Hrm. Decisions.

@serendi what did you name your old hearing aids? :o maybe you could go with something similar

My cane is called Candy, like Candy Cane haha. I've only had it 2 days and it's helped me feel more connected to it and comfortable using it.

I know someone on campus who named their crutches I should really name my cane. Maybe hellen. Or gertrude.

I kinda have. I have ankle, knee, and wrist braces but only my knee braces have nanes that I didn't realize were names until I saw this post. My left knee brace is named lefty and my right knee brace is named right. I want to come up with names for my ankle and wrist braces now though

@Neverlandgirl i think it's cool that names can come up naturally like that! you should totally name all of the braces so they can be a family lol

I’ve named mine! I think it’s fun and a way to express my connection to the item that’s helping me live my life. My cane is named Hank, I use it everyday. I just got a rollator that I’ve named Celeste. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet but I’ve decorated it with celestial themed stickers.

@Greenie23 yeah i think so too! i named my cane henry and feel more of a connection to it somehow, which is good cause i'm still getting used to it. and decorating your rollator to match the name is so fun :o!! i definitely wanna decorate my cane but i'm not sure how i wanna go about it yet

Okay so I have two walkers, a cane, and a wheelchair. Someone suggest some names!

@rowseyy i named my cane henry cause i liked the thought of it just having a pretty normal guy name lol. but i'd be interested in hearing what you come up with :o!!

@rowseyy I can't think of any right now but because you have two walkers I feel like they need names that go together like a Bonnie and Clyde type of name partnership but not actually Bonnie and Clyde that's the only example I could think of right now

I haven’t but that’s a good idea! I think my walker will be Frank lol

@otherworldlysage frank is a perfect name lol. i named my cane henry, there must be something appealing about simple names for this
