I've suffered from severe shortness of breath even while doing small things like walking down a short hall. a few feet, or getting up to do anything. is this normal for long covid? only symptom really but it controls my daily life. I impacs my quality of life. or could this be cops and I need oxygen? I feel like I'm 80. I'm 56.

My resp therapist while I was hospitalized explained what they were calling... The covid cliff. I could walk 20' once, rest, try walking again and couldn't exert at all. O2 says dumped. They said you never know where the cliff is, sometimes you can go a second or 3rd time...eventually your sats drop, and takes a heck of recovery time. Slow building up stamina w/therapy. I am finally off oxygen from covid in November of last year.

Some days are worse than others for me. The worst is shortness of breath from doing small things like making my bed or tying my shoes. It’s awful. I don’t check my oxygen often but sometimes I have episodes where I get really shaky and keep yawning every 3 seconds - maybe oxygen deprived? Idk but it is terrible I wish doctors knew more about Long Covid. :(

It's weird but my SOB comes and goes. Sometimes it's manageable, other times not so much. Yesterday I was carrying in groceries and I was having issues with SOB and after the 3rd trip, I felt like I was dying! It's so crazy! I have lots of other Covid related issues too.

Yes long covid symptoms. My physical therapist recommends starting with biking before walking. Either way it still not fun on the lungs. I got a wheelchair.

Long Covid is real and left me with lung and heart damage. I just keep moving. Im having to retire from 28 years teaching, but I have a different Journey.

Dont give up and keep up the regular appointments. I keep on walking even if it is around tge house. I also use a breathing aparatus called the Breather.

There's nothing worse for me in this world than not being able to breathe in air if you've never gone through that you have no idea how terrifying it is

@MummaD11 wow. Thank you for sharing that. Initially I thought my sob was due to recovering from a heart attack last July. But I should be much better already if that were all instead the same or worse some days. This long covid explains alot but some people look at you crazy bc they believe it was all made up. The pandemic the disease the after effects. All of it is real I want to scream buy have no air...lol Anyway. Thanks again

@PannaMariaGirl if your SOB is your only symptom, you are very lucky! I’m up around 50 symptoms. Be sure to jump on Facebook group Survivor Corp. There’s a subgroup for breathing problems
