does anyone else have a ton of anxiety around their relationship? my brain keeps telling me that my partner is going to leave me for someone else even though I have no reason to think that. if so, any tips to help calm it down?

It's called an anxious attachment style. It essentially means that you're always worried that people are going to leave because when you are a child people left. For me it's been a real challenge to over come. I need lots of reassurance from my partner. Even though it's been 3 years and live together. I just talk to my therapist about it and remind myself it will be okay

This has ruined some of my relationships but I can relate and the when I get to excited I sat something bad. But I also have no reason to think my partner/ex partner was going to leave me for someone else

@RiverD I think it's because I get left out a lot. If you do that may be why as well.

I FEEL THAT. For any relationship, I'd say that the best thing is communication. Tell them how you're feeling and let them know that you even have to reason to think that. I also find that writing things down help tremendously. I do a lot of train-of-thought journaling where I'll just keep writing whatever I'm thinking as I'm thinking it and it helps sometimes. Good luck, friend
