My doctor told me I only had to really take my ADHD meds on days I needed them. Told me it's fine and may even be beneficial to skip weekends and just take them M-F. I've only been on Adderall for 2 weeks and both weekends have been MISERABLE. I'm nursing a headache on a ton of Advil and it's not going away. Does it get better or should I talk to my doctor?

When you are first starting you should regularly take them no matter the day. I got that information too and didn't hear otherwise for like 6 months after the fact that I was doing it wrong and literally could have saved myself the headache.

Adderall side effects tend to stick around for the first 1-2 weeks. That being said, are you getting any side effects when you ARE taking them; or just when you AREN'T taking them? My doctor told me to try not to skip any days when first starting out, and the one day that I did was similarly miserable. Definitely talk to your doctor regardless, but if your brain appreciates the A and doesn't appreciate being off of it, I personally don't see any reason not to take it every day, unless you're having side effects while you're on it as well. Hope everything smooths out for you

I switched to vvyanse. A lot less side effects.
