How do you make yourself go back to work? it's so hard with Adhd. I don't think I'll ever really be able to take care of myself because I would just flat out refuse to go. Losing your utilities? meh. losing your house? meeehhhh. it's honestly crippling and I desperately need help.

If you're going to do something consistently you have to be motivated. If housing isn't the motivator, that's ok! But you can certainly find something that makes you want to keep going every day. For me, it's that I never want to have to ask my parents to help me financially ever again. I know they would, but they would make me feel guilty and lecture me and I absolutely DO NOT want that anymore. So I've worked consistently and saved money the best I could to make sure I didn't need them. It might not be the healthiest πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ but it motivated me when I was really struggling. So think about what working can give you. Shelter, food, clothing, safety are all basics but if that's not motivating you then look elsewhere. Is there a person relying on you? Is there a person that you just want to spite with your sucess? Do you have a pet or a houseplant that you need to care for? Do you have a hobby that brings you joy? Is there a big purchase you've wanted to save for? Hell, the motivator could even be "I want a routine" or "I want to feel content". Sticking with a change can be very difficult, but knowing WHY we are doing something helps us stay focused on it. I believe in you πŸ’œ

I'm having an issue working as well. it's so hard and I hate every job I have. people think it's cuz I'll never be happy. but it's more than that. I don't know what to do either.

I have to have a job that isn't tedious and is constantly changing or fast pace. But without a doubt I change jobs at least every 2 years. I get bored so easily. I've learned to kinda just go with the flow of my adhd rather then freaking out which will trigger my anxiety. I live by the motto everything will sort it self out. And so far it has. I'm still here πŸ˜‚

Working a boring job has always been an issue for me, but recently I found a high activity job that has helped somwhat, most of the day I have something to do at work and I work around something that interests me. Its still hard to be motivated to go in, but at least when I'm there I'm too distracted too think about much else.

I made work fun by giving myself little rewards for doing tasks. I quite literally just trained my brain to associate working/unpleasant tasks with treats πŸ˜‚

@100Percent_K can I ask what kind of rewards you would give yourself? I'm curious
