Does anyone else with BPD struggle to be in a healthy romantic relationship? I feel like I can't tell what is healthy or not. Just wanted to hear peoples thoughts and experiences

Oh soooooo hard! After several failed relationships (including one marriage), I am fortunate that I have finally found someone willing to put up with my crazy but we live apart as living together did not work for us.

Theres a podcast that's helped me and the host's advice was to not share the BPD diagnosis with partners.....too much stigma and they won't understand either way. I respect that point of view and keep it close to my chest. All my former partners experienced the highs and lows of dating me but didn't get to throw my BPD in my face or let it define me.

I just got upset and pulled my hair out in clumps in front of my partner and he was like so confused as to what to do so he just ignored it

Yup been there done that. The worst is being so used to unhealthy love that healthy love freaked me out. My current partner is probably the healthiest relationship i’ve been in but it’s weird not having to fight for that love so it causes me to split with him every so often

Yesss same! I'm so broken it's like I crave toxicity at this point and healthy sends me running.

For some reason I just become irritable and angry with anyone I try to be in a relationship with.. Though I also have PMDD so I'm not sure if my mood swings are because of that or BPD.

I've never been in a relationship but I would say it'd be really hard to do! My friendships aren't that good as we speak so itd be hard to main a romantic relationship.

We both had to go to therapy to learn how to deal with my BPD
