have any of the women on here ever been told by their parents that they can't have children because of their epilepsy.

She has no right to tell you what to do with your life if she's not going to be supportive of at least some things you want to do. If you want kids in a few years, you just have to plan to have kids in a few years. Getting a credit card would probably be a good idea too so you can set a foundational credit score. She should have already helped you do that, but even if she doesn't you can still get one. Make the mailing address a friend's and set everything to electronic for billing and stuff. A credit score is important for loans and rent just as much as showing an income.

@songSungblue30315 I would but she makes my dads name also be on my savings account and since his is the top name he would have to be with me and he listens to my mom and says the same thing.
@hydroepilepic21 ugh. Do you work and then it's direct deposit into the savings account?
Do you depend on her financially? Like you have a job or are you going to college and still need that support? Most people still do in their 20s
@songSungblue30315 I was told by my mom once again I can't go to college, I don't have a debit card but I could pay for things myself if I had one, supposably "I'm not responsible enough to have one."
No, but I never liked the idea of carrying children. My neurologist made sure to put me on lemotrigene, which he said was safest for women who may want biological kids down the line. Now when people ask me why I don't have/want to birth kids (like it's their business), I use epilepsy as an excuse. But it's really not dangerous if you're on the right meds. Doctors tend to think epilepsy is hereditary, so maybe that's why your parents are saying that?
@songSungblue30315 thank you, I know I have a distant relative who has it, she doesn't have kids, ive always thought I would have a big family though.
@hydroepilepic21 hear me out, have you thought about adopting? Or even being a foster parent? "Family don't end in blood" - Dean Winchester
