I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, IBS and fever of unknown origin all within about a year of each other. I have tested negative for a whole panel of auto immune disorders. I'm not satisfied with the fibromyalgia diagnosis because of the other symptoms I have developed at the same time. I feel like I'm just taking shots in the dark. I want to give up but I cannot live a life of poor quality because I'm too tired and in pain and have fevers too often. Has anyone been in this situation? Any ideas

@MystikMandy I do have swallowing issues! I have had two types of swallow tests to confirm. I'll look into it, thanks

Oh one thing I've been telling fibro people that suffer with IBS GERD low appetite weight gain of weight lause severe nausea is to get checked for gastroparesis because I have gastroparesis I just found out last November. I suspect that there are A LOT of firbomyalgia people with delayed stomach emptying or gastroparesis. Swallowing issues are also a symptom. There are varying levels of functionality but it's basically caused by nerve damage to the vagus nerve. Diabetes is a common cause but I have talked to a lot of GP warriors that have ideopathic Gastroparesis and I polled people in groups and found many have also been diagnosed with fibro.

Yes!!!! It is so frustrating. I literally feel like fibro is what they say when they don't know what's wrong

I have seen so many people say that they tested negative for auto immune disorders and still later got diagnosed recently I talked to a woman who said she tested negative for R.A. for years that ended up having R.A. I feel the same way that I have an autoimmune but they're saying fibromyalgia. I don't disagree that I have fibro I disagree that I don't have auto immune on top of it. There are many who also feel that fibro is an autoimmune disease even though medical field says no it is not. Too many of us feel ill all the time like they have a cold or a flu. I often feel sick and no one else In my house is sick.

Are you being seen by a rheumatologist? FM is common with autoimmune diseases like RA. I know you tested negative, but a good rheum may watch you to see if you develop into a disease. I have UCTD and that’s kind of how it was for me. I had a lot of weird symptoms and nobody knew what was going on and the rheums just watched me and eventually I showed more symptoms. You could also be something called “seronegative” which means you have something but your blood work isn’t showing it.

@NickGobes75 yes I actually just met with a really thorough one. She just tested me for a panel of autoimmune diseases and all were negative. But I was told by a doctor a few years back that it can be negative at first then test positive years later.
