I get this a lot. With my depression it often feels like life is happening TO me and i have no control of it so i tend to be reckless as a way to feel in control sometimes. However, you end up adding more consequences to your plate (take it from me…). I’m not bipolar so idk if that influences that, but please remember you are not alone and you are strong enough to get through this… someone somewhere has a better life because you are in it.

If you’re bipolar my guess is that is the manifestation of a manic episode. Especially with the increased urge to participate in risky behaviors coupled with the urge to self harm or commit. Acknowledging that you are in an episode by itself is helpful to navigate this issue but I would reach out to a professional if you have one to ask more! But that’s what it sounds like to me, my sister gets the same way during her episodes. Not everyone’s mania presents the same so I’d compare and contrast your experience with the experiences of others online dealing with a manic episode
