how do you know when it's time to go to the hospital... I've lived with chronic pain for the majority of my 20 years on this floating space rock. I recently threw my back out again, and as always have been pushing through. it usually goes away after a few days. I have issues with my hips and if I sit wrong my left leg goes numb and hurts for a while, it happened today but we're on hour 3 of my left hip in a good amount of pain and my lower back isn't happy. I'm so tired of hospitals.. all they do is look at me like I'm crazy or drug seeking and tell me to go home and take some Motrin. I know I should probably go to a hospital, I know that. I just don't want to be stuck in the ER for 3hrs waiting and then who knows how long waiting for a doc or an answer

Oh my goodness! I can't imagine the agony you must be in. What happens if you call the hospital and tell them what's happened and that it's a chronic issue?

@sorenachy I don't even know who to call anymore. I've been to so many specialists (who in the end wind up sending me referrals to each other!) I go to the ER usually. Just to get some relief, never worth it in the long run as they usually just shrug and tell me to go to my primary who promptly does nothing and I have to call and hound their ass for the people they sent me referrals cuz no one ever calls me.

@The.Morrigan could it be time to find a new GP? It sounds like you aren't getting the care you deserve.
