Hello new community, I've been trying to figure out something that's been a big issue lately so when I saw this existed it looked perfect. I am sorry if this ends up being very long. I am known as the "medical anomaly" of my friend group and take so many meds I look like a grandma sometimes- The amount of limitations I have can be extremely frustrating. I signed up for a four week paid internship this summer that I absolutely loved, but at the end of 3 weeks I suddenly crashed. I couldnt wake up in the morning, it would usually take me 2 hours, and I spent all of my time off of work sleeping as well. I still felt exhausted, always, and sometimes dizzy. On Wednesday of week 4 during work I ended up sleeping in the grass. I was just working on sifting through dirt like I was supposed to be and then suddenly I was down. One of my bosses came over very concerned and told me I could go rest if I needed to. He also said I had done the same thing on Monday, which I dont remember at all. I was too dizzy to get up for a while, and I was so embarresed laying there while all my colleagues were working away. At the end of week four I started falling asleep at odd times. while I was eating, while I was texting, I'd doze off for a few seconds while walking to and from work, etc. I've had two days since the internship ended and literally all I've done is sleep and I still feel exhausted. I will fall asleep in the middle of talking and stuff as well. This same thing happened back in summer of 2019, the last time I worked a schedule similar to a full time job. I was fine for 3 weeks and then bang. we looked into chronic fatigue syndrome and there was a lot of promise there but when I brought it up with my doctor she very firmly stated it doesn't exist, which is very unlike her. The concept that I can't hold a full time job is terrifying to me. It took me at least a month to fully recover the last time I got this tired. I loved the work I did during that internship so much, I don't want it to be something that throws me into hibernation, but it is. I dont really know what's going on with me or what to do, besides sleep.
