Hello! I was recently diagnosed with prediabetes and non alcoholic fatty liver, and I am struggling to balance my diet with these conditions while avoiding a relapse into my restrictive eating disorder. Would love to hear any advice or kind words đ

I have fatty liver and eating disorder issues. I will preface this by saying my ED is restrictive anorexia and that I am now at what my docs have deemed a âhealthy weightâ. I wonât use numbers because I know that can be triggering. I will say according to BMI I am considering overweight, but everyone knows BMI is bs. My docs are happy with where I am, so thatâs what I care about. There was a lot of confusion as to why I had developed fatty liver because I eat healthy, am not considered obese and am fairly active. I also was diagnosed celiac at age 15, so Iâve been eating gluten free for almost 10 years. When researching it, turns out people like me are more likely to develop fatty liver. What has helped my liver values the most is taking Vit E and Fish Oil. Being diagnosed with fatty liver was definitely a blow, having an ED being told I had a condition with the word âfatâ in it was upsetting. I worked through it with my therapist and worked on reframing. Intuitive eating I think could be helpful for you, might be something to look into. I donât know your whole situation, but this was mine. I hope it helps a little. My inbox I open too! :)

I also have an eating disorder, pre-diabetes, and fatty liver. I'm in the same boat trying to keep balance with nutrition. I just try to keep myself accountable by looking at trends in my bloodwork. However when I have slipups and fall off my meal plan I forget to be kind and compassionate to myself. That is a work in progress. I just try to focus on one thing at a time. For example I'm working on adding to things I want. If I want pop tarts for breakfast. I only pack 1 pop tart instead of the 2pk, and add protein like a greek yogurt, and a piece of fruit.
