it's been 3-4 years trying to get a diagnosis.. I'm beginning to think I'm wrong and that everyone bleeds every single day of the year and that everyone gets extreme pain all the time and everyone gets all these symptoms. I just need someone to tell me that it's not normal and maybe chat to me about their experiences so I don't feel so alone rn...

I definitely feel you there I was only diagnosed with PCOS at 13 (l'm 20 now) because I quite literally was in the ER dying from the blood I was losing, for two years I was bleeding they could have caught it sooner but they wrote it off as I have a vitamin D deficiency, an iron deficiency, and I just needed to lose weight. I need 3 blood transfusions and I'm still not recovered enough to live a normal life, every time start my period I run the very high risk of bleeding out but I simply don't have enough blood in my body, I suffer from chronic fainting spells now and it's so hard for me to wake up. It's not fun and I just can't help but feel if they would have done something sooner wouldn't be as sick. I don’t have all the symptoms of PCOS just the pain, “weight” and heavy bleeding so don’t let them lie to you hun. This isn’t normal. Please advocate for yourself and if they tell you no about something tell them to put it in writing.

That’s super not normal—I don’t bleed every day of the year, nor does anyone I know. Mom, sister, aunt, multiple friends. I really hope your doctors aren’t gaslighting you, I know how shitty that can be. I know it’s so hard to trust yourself when tests keep coming back without answers. Just know that, A, longer diagnosis times and mediocre medical care are common for people who menstruate, and B, you are not alone, or crazy.

@aldrwytch I’m so sorry you’re going through this—I’ve been diagnosis hunting for many many years, for other kinds of issues, and while I’ve finally got answers to some problems, I still have no explanations for others. But after 10 years of searching, getting a dx was proof—I’m not crazy, and I never was, and neither are you.

@aldrwytch thank you! Unfortunately gynecology have discharged me back to gp now so I have to do everything all over again. Gynecology say I'm fine.. and I've gone through this route 5 times... I don't understand why they don't listen! I even have my family medical history to back up my pcos idea but they don't wanna hear it. It's so frustrating
