Hi I was wondering if anyone else with Lymes, Bartonella or Erlichia also has trouble with memory? Especially with directions, I'm so horrible with directions it's really embarrassing when people expect me to kno directions and I dont!

Yes, brain fog is still such a problem for me! It's a lot more low key so it's hard to explain to people sometimes, since its not blazingly obvious, but it's definitely still really difficult

I have terrible problems with memory and brain fog. I will be talking to someone and tell them the same thing multiple times, totally forgetting I was talking about that literally ten seconds ago. When it's really bad, I sound high or drunk and can't remember anything.

When my chronic Lyme symptoms were in full swing, I definitely had moments of pure forgetfulness where I couldn’t remember the rest of my sentence or I wouldn’t remember something that had happened recently. Even now I feel like I have to work harder to remember things for school and whatnot.

Hi! I have chronic Lyme and it affects my memory a TON- when I first started my treatments 5 years ago I could hardly remember what the day of the week was. My doctor told me that in my case it was due to my brain swelling from my untreated Lyme and the accompanying mold illness I got with the Lyme. Maybe reach out to a doctor when you can and they can give you more solid medical advice. But don’t beat yourself up! It’s a process and you will improve!

Yes! I was only recently diagnosed with Lyme/Bart/Babesia/TBRF, but have suffered from these conditions for over thirteen years. Memory has always been one of my greatest neurological difficulties - I’m almost twenty now but, when I was in fourth or fifth grade, tested in the lowest percentile for retention/general ability to remember things. It’s crazy to look back now with these diagnoses and realize that that issue directly correlated to these diseases. Google Maps is a lifesaver - I even use it locally because I have such difficulty with directions, regardless of how long I’ve lived in an area. Does anyone else struggle with expressing themselves verbally, but are able to write out their thoughts articulately? I have trouble speaking clearly and finding the proper words, but it comes easily to me when writing. Wondering if this could be a result of Lyme? Keep up the good fight, all!

@Milay not a writer but often struggle for the word I’m looking for. I could of thought about something yesterday and use a word to describe it and then the next day not be able to recall what word I used

It’s my worse problem still. I was diagnosed in 08 and still struggle with my memory. When I first was diagnosed I used to feel lost driving in an area I knew I’ve been many time

Yup that was the first thing I lost. During the worst part of my Bartonella I lost partial ability to walk and read and write as well as speak. I still don’t remember three months of my life last year
