I believe my fibro journey technically started when I was 7 and started experiencing nerve pain in my thighs, though I couldn't articulate what it was so I called it the "deep bone pain" and was told it was growing pains. Except even when I stopped growing. the pain persisted, spread and grew more intense. By 15, I was living that every day ache, pain, fatigue and fog life. I grew up in a rural town and they didn't believe in fibro so I wasn't formally diagnosed until I moved to a city in a different state. I've never actually met another person with fibro and honestly, it's hard only ever interacting with people who just can't comprehend 24/7 365 pain.

I dealt with the same thing and my mom always had me drink a glass of milk when the pain was really bad. I'm not sure what she expected to happen. I live in a suburban area and got lucky seeing a good doctor and getting diagnosed when I was 22.

I’ve dealt with the pain since I was born practically. I feel you with the rural area thing! My doctors just said it was growing pains. That lasted until I was diagnosed at 19-20.

I have had the so called growing pains my whole life. It's hard to explain as a child
