How do y'all emotionally regulate? I just had an outburst after a talk with my dad that lead to severe nausea, nearly crying and uncontrollable punches to my bed during which I accidentally nicked my phone. I grew up without any helpful displays of anger control and I just want to make awful choices.

One way I do is to put on my headphones with the volume all the way up and put on loud metal/rock music. I also fill a sink with cold water and put my face in it or on the flip run a tap till its hot and put my hands under. I also rip up paper or throw teddies or pillows at walls. Or I got on a walk to a secluded place and scream as loud as I can
Hi friend!! One thing that has helped me is going into a room where I’ll know I’ll have some alone time and just listen to my favorite music or watch YouTube videos.

Hi friend. Have you looked into breath practice? It's a lot of work to learn when to implement it, but a mental shift of intention and a cold face splash can help you get there. It's much work but very worth it. ❤️
