Has anyone found any triggers for their NES? Like I feel like mine are temperature changes, pain, sleep deprivation, physically tired, and maybe stress. This goes for my fainting episodes too.

I know for sure mine are triggered by migraines.
@IntentionallyBlank Do you have a specific kind of migraine?
@MandazInTC I think they’re called tension or cluster migraines but I’m not really sure. I don’t even think they’re migraines but my neuro says they are

I suffer from anxiety and found that my panic attacks turned into my seizures. I do find that other triggers are weirdly enough, lack of noise, being cold or temperature changes quickly, my heart rate being too fast( too much caffeine) and yes I have fainting spells as well
@MaddieDanielsen Did a psychiatrist and neurologist work together for this diagnosis?

I have a heart problem that causes NES and hemiplegic migraines also tend to trigger them for me
@wise How did your neurologist determine this?
709d
@MandazInTC it actually wasn't a neurologist! I made that determination after coming to the conclusion that my symptoms were caused by Long QT Syndrome, which is known for causing "seizure-like movements" (now known to be pseudoseizures or non-epileptic seizures). I did research on my symptoms and essentially just presented my case to anyone who would listen. eventually I found a cardiologist who actually looked through my records and listened when I spoke, he wanted a 30 day monitor and genetic testing, which did confirm my diagnosis. I understand self-diagnosis is not the standard procedure but it's the only thing that's worked for me and I've never been wrong. If you're having NES and can't find a cause, see a cardiologist. it may be heart related
