I am greatly saddened and stressed out right now. being on disability payments I have very limited funds. and I'm doing everything I can to make extra money so I can actually give my kids a Christmas. but with no help it may not happen. and that's not ok with me. and the stress is driving me crazy.

I haven't been able to get on disability yet. I'm in a weird place; my parents abused me when I was little, but I've maintained a relationship with them so that I've got a last chance of someone to beg if it becomes an issue of that or the streets. Now, I'm preparing to visit them for Christmas for the first time in years, and my primary motivation for doing so is because my two cats live with me in a single room and are stir-crazy, and my parents offered I could bring them and let them stay in the basement with me. I'm willing to put up with my mom's narcissistic bullying if it means my kitties can run around for a couple days. I know it's not the same, but my heart hurts for you because my cats are the only kids I'll ever have (hard pass on letting my genetics pass forward to another generation,) and I'm willing to put up with half a week of hearing about how my health problems are in my head and my mental health is this deliberate attack against my mother if it means they get a better Christmas, so I can only imagine what you must be willing to do for your kids to still get something from Santa. I imagine you've already checked into this, but all I can really suggest is looking for charities which do toy drives. I remember my dad used to get these envelopes at his work with Santa letters from needy kids, and he'd go get a stuffed critter and a blanket, or a toy truck and some socks, or whatever the kiddo was asking for. Might be worth seeing if there's a program like that in your area.

I totally understand, we are even having issues having enough money to pay bills and we are not on disability
