I'm having a super hard time learning my limits and managing pain. I feel like I'm a 30yr old trapped in a 90yr old body and I want to do things but am limited by pain. It's made all my other conditions worse and it seems there is no light at the end of the tunnel.

I've recently started aquatic physical therapy twice a week in a heated salt pool and it seems to be helping little by little. I'm only 3 visits in but I keep hearing "you're way too young to to be so achey". On good days I have trouble remembering that balance is priority over productivity. The guilt of things put on the back burner makes me want to catch up tenfold when I feel remotely able to do anything. Sending hugs, friend.

it's been a very hard journey for me to adjust to my body's limits. i think it's hard for everyone who wants to live their life and be able to do whatever they want. learning to appreciate the small things i can do has helped, and being mindful about how i feel now and how i will feel after i do certain things makes setting limits easier

It’s definitely hard to learn limits.. it seems like mine change and that’s the hardest part.. in the mornings I wake up and I have to use the bathroom, brush my teeth and wash my face but right after I have to lay back down for a while before I can do anything else… I don’t work because of fibromyalgia and it’s still hard to manage being home doing home/basic stuff.. so if you’re working it’s probably ten times harder to manage. 😣

I say this ALL this time. It’s like I’m trapped in a 90 year olds body. I can’t even enjoy the activities I once did. But I try to focus on more mindless activities like diamond painting and coloring. Yoga/stretching while watching tv is also helpful. But back to your post, that’s why depression is so rampant in those with FM. This is just my life now forever. 😔

Finding your limits plan ahead if you know you have a big sumthin to do, give it it's own day. I do a lil rest do a lil rest somedays I'm stuck in bed and the rest of the world is just going to have to wait. Somedays all I can manage is getting the shower taken, and that's ok.

I like to read, color and play games on my phone. It seems like I spend most of my days in bed and if I do too much, I pay for it for about a week.

I feel that : ( I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia at 16. All my friends were running around all day and all night and keeping up took a toll. You learn to enjoy the down time you have although I know it isn’t an easy process. Try to find hobbies or things you can do in your relaxing time to still feel productive. You can only get stronger ❤️
