100%. I try to do a meal service when I can or just order easy stuff from Amazon (I’m in a city so that’s available. I know I’m lucky with that.). But there is no way I can cook with the pain.
It is a very long process to prepare a meal.my neuropathy is in both feet so I will usually start to do my little happy dance that I do when I am in pain and my husband will notice and he has to come in and finish the meal. He is really good about knowing when I am done even before I call him to come take over for me. I feel very blessed to have him because he is such a big help to me. I use my instant pot a lot to make meals because it helps.
While I love to cook and bake, MS says, "Not today sweetie ". So I've started cooking extra on those days when I'm better and making my own freezer meals. I don't eat fast food. Well except for pizza and a rare visit to Sonic, but otherwise the extra chicken, Poultry, fish Cooks in 2-3 portions and gets frozen. Then it's just put the veg and maybe potatoes, rice, beans, etc on to heat up. It's not a great system but at least I won't starve. LOL, I can always stand to lose a few pounds anyway. If all else fails at the moment grab fruit and cheese and do a dinner time picnic.
My hubs has been a trooper the last 5 years! We subscribed to a meal kit program. Everything delivered & you cook. Hubs does not typically enjoy cooking. He did enjoy cooking and learning how to cook things. I would sit and describe steps.
Those are on the spendy side, so we stopped ordering them. He has used things he has learned. 🙂 While we still eat out and elsewhere prepared foods, the home cooked foods are yummy.
