Feeling like a failure because of family pressure

Okay I relate to this so much. My dad emotionally abuses me more than he even imagines. Nothing I do is ever enough for him. He lets me have my own dreams, but he won’t let me determine how I achieve those dreams. It’s SO hard when the people that are supposed to be your biggest supporters are the ones who bring you down. I live with my dad and step-mom so it’s impossible to fully ignore them. My mom passed away when I was 5, so I don’t have that extra support. Something I’m working with my counselor on is learning how to become my own person. Learn how to determine what I want. Not what he wants. It’s so frustrating.

Hey, it's okay. You shouldn't ever have to do something that someone wants you to do. If you are uncomfortable or uninterested then you should definitely not put baggage on your shoulders. It can be quite stressful when everyone around you wants you to do what THEY want you to do. Sometimes the best thing you can do is focus on yourself and take care of yourself. It's one day at a time 💗
