Anyone on any other medications that help with sleep but don't cause weight gain. I find Mirtazapine very effective for sleep but it causes weight gain.
I have also used in the past all of the following at down point. Hydroxyzine, ambien, doxepin, lunesta, ramelteon. Belsomra, and maybe have tried Sonata as well
Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine prescribed as an anxiolytic, it totally knocks me out, don't know if it has weight gain as a side effect. My husband takes topiramate to counteract the weight gain effects of his other medications, and he lost over 100 pounds. He works out a lot also, but he always did, before the topiramate he couldn't lose weight. It seriously controls his appetite.
so topiramate is a Med that helps weight loss or is a non-weight gainer. I take Trokendi XR which has topiramate/Topamax as it active ingredient. I hope it can help me lose some weight or at least stop the gaining b
Also bupropion is an antidepressant that can help with weight loss, but personally I couldn't handle that dosage. There's an adjustment period you have to get through, and it was unbearable for me, so I'm on a lower dose just for the antidepressant effect.
