I fear that due to a recent assault I have experienced I will never be able to connect to people on a normal or deep emotional connection anymore. I used to feel so much and so deeply about everything eventhough I have already struggled with mental health my hole life. but now due to the assault and having to go to victims advocates office so many time and court and trials I'm just so drained both emotionally and physically. I don't feel much anymore and its hard for me to be happy for anymore then a couple seconds. I just don't kown what to do anymore.

This book could help. It's The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk, it's about trauma.

That could be PTSD, sweetie. 😥 You could try researching to see if you feel like you have too much epinephrine, norepinephrine, and cortisol, and too little serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin. It sounds like your brain is in survival mode still and that less oxytocin could be causing issues with trust and bonds. 🤗 Just please be gentle with yourself and you're doing amazing reaching out for help!
I had a really bad assault experience like 7-8 yrs ago. Really bad. I feel like I have yet to heal from it and i actually had my skull fractured and a concussion. Finding what helps you cope is the key.
