I wish I had someone sit me down and just straight up physically help me through tasks because I just don't get how to do them. Doctors appointments, mental health, meal prep, I've never been taught any of that and it's exhausting trying to learn it on my own alongside my awful ADHD. I feel like I'm missing an instruction book to life and was given just a few pages. Where would a good place to start be?

Dude I've been thinking the same thing for so many things! Hygiene, dating, exercise, friendships, etc etc. There are life coachs out there but sometimes I feel like I need someone to talk to one on one and walk me through it. It's hard having nothing to go off of and people expect you to figure it out on your own and shame you when you can't. It's ok. We don't think the same way as others. Find a support group and maybe a therapist or something to help you figure out how to do things and get you to do them. I feel incredibly dependent on other people because of stuff like this but you're not alone and you're not abnormal. There are plenty of people like you and me with adhd or autism who struggle with things like this. My parents help me with a lot but I know they're not always going to be around but maybe try talking to your partner if you have one to assist you. If you don't, then try asking a close friend. It's ok to get help and I want to be the first to say I'm proud of you for asking because that can sometimes be the hardest step

If it’s possible an executive functioning coach sounds like could be really helpful for what you’re looking for. If that’s not accessible to you an online environment (like a discord server or subreddit) could help with finding life advice from people like you.

Make flash cards with each step on it, look at each step at a time. and out source as much as possible! You are allowed to ask for help
