Hi, I am a 23 year old Haitian female. I was wondering what you think I should do about my current situation. My friend advised that you would be able to help me. I recently experienced an AVM rupture of the brain, which has caused some issues on the left side of my face and body. I now have double vision, my left hand is lacking coordination and strength, as well as my left leg. I used to have spasms on my left leg and my left hand used to shake when trying to be used. My spasms have disappeared and the shaking in my left hand is now minor. I had a prior AVM rupture when I was 7 years old but my body went back to normal after 2 weeks. But that surgery was only to drain out the blood that filled in my brain. I currently had my other surgeries back in November 2020. The first surgery was to drain the blood that was drowning my brain. Then the doctors removed the tangled vein. I was in a coma for a couple of days. I regained consciousness but after a week I went back into a coma. The doctors had to do another surgery. After not finding a solution, the doctors were prepared to give up. But a nurse told them to find another way. I was not supposed to make it but by some miracle they were able to fix the problem. Afterwards I stayed in the hospital for a month and then went straight to rehab. By that time I wasn't even able to sit up on my own. After many months of physical therapy, I am now using a cane to walk. My vision has improved but I still have to wear an eye patch for my double vision. I also have minor face stiffness on my left side. When I walk it's not easy for me to control where my foot lands, I don't have my full balance yet and my vision. I am currently in outpatient therapy learning to improve my balance and coordination in my left leg. My neurologist informed me that everything would regain strength later on but the brain is not going to heal quickly after 2 years. I do a lot of work at home but I was wondering if there's anything else I should do to improve quicker.
